Is there a way to have it custom?
I have received request by some of my users to make it to it appears that the file is downloaded more!
Is there a way to make the download count by multiplied by 2 or 3 or whatever multiple I want ?
Some of my competitors (I wont name) do that and it seems as that attracts big sites owners who are paid to post music from certain people.
To make this clear...
Big site is approached by Bob who wants his music posted on the site.
Bob pays the site for that.
Big site asks me to manipulate download count so that when Bob looks at his download link he sees "downloaded : 3000 times" even if the big site owner (uploader) knows the file was actually downloaded 300 times.
Bob sees the fake download amount... goes crazy and continues paying because he is convinced he is being downloaded a lot.

what can I say man... if that's what the user wants... what can I say?
If I do it, they stay on my site, if I don't do it, they'll go somewhere else to upload their files.
I much rather keep my users. They are the ones who fool their users into paying them for that not me. |
