well, I am with yazuhost.com from the last about 14 months. running big file hosting website. Their prices are very good & provide high resources & bandwidth on flexible rates.

I don't think secured server will be good for you as you will be billed a huge amount for bandwidth usage etc. Also, storage servers will be much costly with them, they do have just 4 bays chassis, while I have 12 in one servers with yazuhost.com

you may contact yazuhost.com if you want.

I can help you out. What is your monthly budget for the main site and for each file server?

For the main website go with Cleverkite ( http://www.cleverkite.com/pricing ). I am currently on the alto plan but I upgraded ram to 1gb for an extra $5/month. They are completely powered by SSD hard drives and have a great network. I currently host my xfilesharing site there and it always loads quickly.

For the file servers I would recommend Leaseweb (US or NL), Yazuhost (NL) and FDC (US or EU). Normally FDC has a great server special https://www.fdcservers.net/specials.php but it is currently sold out due to the thailand flooding. 100TB.com is good too but I have read that they have a problem with DMCA notices. They will delete your server if you get even a few notices.

I don't think you should go with securedservers as I have read some bad reviews about them recently ex. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1079064

Also check out Quickpacket, Quadranet and Swiftway. You should email them for offers on 1gbps 100tb servers as they provide significantly lower prices through email compared to the prices listed on their websites. However, you may find that prices are still high as the Thailand flooding has raised the price of hard drives.

well im using ovh.com the prices are good i have over 100 tb traffic on a month still working Smile. my fileserver gets 1 gbit full every day.

186 216 075 MB Traffic last month Smile with other companys you could get a problem Smile. My site is not for download only for stream. but 100 tb is good enough for starting a site.

I personally will never recommend fdcservers.com, they are the cheapest. but you can never get what they advertise. Like they say 1gbps unmetered but their network is not capable to push 1gbps. I had a server with them but I could never go across 300mbps while it was 1gbps unmetered.

always check extra disk pricing before starting with 1 or 2 drives as 2TB drive from most of providers will cost you $50-60 per month.

Better do some good search before finalizing decision.

@ Hostlife , @ Dulci

Thanx guys for the informations... really appreciate...
thanx again..

Can you give me a server specification to start up a site..

For main site and file server site..

i saw someone has noted that for main server its better to have good CPU and RAM rather than HDD...

But for File Server what sort of specification i should go with? Average server with more HDD or Really fast good server with More RAM + HDD + 1Ghz port?

thanx again
cheers

Hi

If you expect that your website will be popular & will grab good amount of traffic, I will recommend you to go with these specs.

:: MAIN SERVER ::
2 x Intel Quad Core Xeon E5620
8GB RAM
2x500GB RAID 1 or if you want to security go with 4x500GB RAID10
2-5TB bandwidth will be sufficient (keep your main server for just application).

:: FILE SERVER ::
2 x Intel Quad Core Xeon E5620
8GB RAM
12x2TB or recommended one (12x2TB RAID 5 for files & 2x500 2.5" RAID 1 for CentOS)

If you see that it will take time to fill your drives then you can go with 4x2TB, or 8x2TB etc.

Hope this is enough.

Regards
