How to calculate the downloading traffic?

In XFS1.5 , the system calculate it by per click, what I want is when client click to download a file but stop it later, this way for a large file (let's say 100M) client only get 10M, less then the full size, I want to have this 10M to be logged as this client's real traffic, how can I implement it?

This could be implemented with extra mod for dl.cgi.
