Hello,
I am willing to start my own file hosting service. I am bit confused about getting servers. Because, I found that 100mbps is not good for file hosting sites, while 1gbps is good, but costly enough. Can you guys please recommend me some good hosting which provide 1gbps & high bandwidth. Mostly hosting are providing bandwidth about 10TB on 1gbps, but it's too low, as I know a person who is running file hosting & his monthly bandwidth usage is about 80-100TB. So, I am also looking for 100TB or something.
I searched some hosting.
100tb.com, look like they have good name, but their upgrades are too costly like 1TB hdd costs $50 a month & 2TB hdd cost $60 a month.
100tb.eu, they are very new. I wouldn't like to go with them
net100tb.com: they are looking good, any body have experience?
Yazuhost.com is offering 100TB too, I have 2 VPS from them, but not sure how good their dedicated servers. Can anybody tell me about them?
rackedge.com, they look much more costly. So, no why to go with them
If anyone have any better choice. please help me.
Thanks |

i dont know yet how net100tb.com is but im going to buy from them
send them an email to sales@net100tb.com what kind of server you need and they will send you a nice price. im going to buy 1 from them this week. it is also important wich country you have most visitors. it not smart to buy a server from netherlands where the most people are from usa. 100tb.com i hade a test server but upload from europe to usa was very slow.
by the way 100 mb will be enough as a start |

100TB.com should never be an option.
even 4 x 2TB hdd will cost $240.
I should decide between yazuhost & net100tb, you mentioned net100tb, but they are just 2 months old . Does anyone have servers from yazuhost???
Please respond. |

Depens on where you got usertraffic from.
I recommend 100tb Washington DC servers. then you can cover both us and eu traffic.
for 200$ + 50$ you get 2TB + 500gb + 500gb drives. If thats expensive then you need to take a trip outside your house for some fresh air.
100TB for 200$ is like nothing..
Also they got a perfect control panel, where you can do most of the server stuff yourself. Support is also very good.
A customer of mine uses around 15TB a day divided on different servers, and income is a lot more
If you planning on running more than 200-300Mbit per day equals around 100TB / month. Then you need raid10 solution (Hardware) and might need to pay for a unmetered gigabit for 400$ extra.
with the 2Tb drive and alot of small files you might not handle more than up to 300Mbit due harddrive limits. |

i can offer what you need but it depends what your budget is
as a unmetered 1gbps cost about 300 - 400$ ( shared) or 800$ (dedicated)
with unmetered we realy mean unmetered , but 1gbps means a max speed of 1gb per second that can be used all the time , it has nothing to do with traffic (to lazy to start calculating)
to provide a example
1mbps = 320GB per month
means that you can use a max of 320GB per month if your speed is 1mbps all the time
so 100mbps = 32 TB per month you use
there is no way you can get over it as you can not go over your speed (doesnt that make any sense)
if you go to a 1GB port then you got 320 TB you can use maximum
anyway
hopely this explained the small problem you got before and why it is so expensive
if you are still looking for it
send me a email ( sales@powerchaos.com ) or go to http://getadedi.com for more info of what i offer
if you send me a email then we can work out a custom price to fit your budget
for more info about my company , please take a look at http://powerchaos.com ( there stands everything i do )
Thank you
Greetings From PowerChaos |
