Please advice fileserver raid controller and some spec

I have HP G6 Xeon QC X3440 (8MBCache,2.53GHz,95W,1333,HT) Ram 8 GB

Raid card between Adaptect or LSi for build Raid 10

target for 1000-2000 user


and 2 server with 4 hardisk/each or 1 server with 8 hardisks is better ?

I can't comment on the raid cards since I only use software raid

but get 2 servers with 4 harddrives
having 2 servers spreads your risk if one has downtime and they can handle more connections
