Does turning the bounce back system on delete contacts after the set number of bounces or does it simply stop sending emails to that address? I do not want the contact information to be deleted from the system.

Your mileage may vary, but I found the "active" checkmarks were removed in the case of bounces and I had to delete the people myself.

I have sent out about 10 newsletters since I activated bounceback. It is not working.

The image shows my settings, apart from username & password. Have I set something wrong?

Hi John,

Have you set up a cron job for the bounce_back.pl script?

I run it manually from the web browser and it then starts to clear the bounce backs.

Thanks for your reply. Is it necessary to set up a cron job? I was hoping to avoid having to master something else.

Not nessary but it will time out when you run it from a browser, I guess it depends on the size of your list.

I don't know what you use but in CPanel it is pretty easy to set up a cron job.

BTW I like the project you are involved with!
