Does Web Server and Mysql server need 1gbps

Hello,

If I have a file server with dedicated 1gbps line and decide to keep my web server on a different server would the web server also need a 1gbps line or would a regular server with a regular line be sufficient? Also would it need un-metered bandwidth or would regular be okay?

main website can work on 10mbit (internet)

if you are separating db and web, then both should be inter connected by 1gbit lan (local)

I think we are confusing each other.

1) File/Storage Server: Host files
2) DB/Web Server:

I am saying if db and web are on one server do I need it to have a 1gbps line?

For your web/db server you should find a host with premium bandwidth, this will make sure your site are fast for a bigger area than cheap bw providers.
100mbit will most likely be enough.

100Mbit should be good, but when you have 100 Useres that download at same time its not much for each one.

Fileserver better 1Gb with traffic flat Smile

but its everytime a question of money!
