Hosting xvideosharing

#1 Postby Jotime » Jul 16, 2013 2:01 pm

Hi

I´m thinking about starting a streaming site with xvideosharing, please, help me to choose a hosting.
I searched on this forum and I only found hostings to "filehosting sites."

My budget is "high" and I think I can make a lot of traffic in 2-3 months, but I don´t want waste money in the first month.

If first month I only have 50,000 visits, what kind of hosting do I need ?
(fileserver)

CPU: Dual core?
Ram: 16 GB DDR3,24,32??
Bandwith: 10TB? (200mb-300mb/file) - or maybe is better 100mps or 1gps Unmetered...? Because I don´t know really
HD: First month I don´t need more than 2x1TB SATA or something like that.
Raid: ?

And what about main server? Is better start with main and fileserver together or use a small dedicated server to main server?

I saw a lot of dedicated servers on leaseweb, but maybe they are too expensive, I heard about voxily too, but I think they don´t want sites with low traffic.
What hosting is the best for my needs?

I handled dedicated servers before (on my websites), but never a filesharing or video streaming, so I´m little lost.
Sorry for my poor English, I´m still learning

I know I´m asking too much but I wait an answer, thank you.

Start with single server but dual core won't server you well, because you have to encode video files too, i'll recommend you to go for this specs:

Outside US location, NL is prefered.
E3-1230
16GB RAM
2X1TB or 4x1TB SATA minimum
1GBPS 100TB

When your site start growing up, start adding file server as needed.

Yes, start with Average server - it will be enough first months, then you can always get extra fileservers. This way you won't waste your money after 1st server bill :)
Choose Unmetered bandwidth server or 100TB. 4 GB RAM will be enough. 100 mbit connection is probably OK for first months as well. Some Xeon CPU is recommended. Such server should cost about $100-$150 per month max.
