What is the max storage limit per server?
For example:
Intel core2duo 8400 - dual core
4GB RAM
(X)x(XGB) HD (or only 1 HD)
100Mbps dedicated link
X=??? |

| You can use as many file servers as you wish (1 file server per 1 HDD) and use any HDDs. |

more storage = more files
more files = more users connected to the server
more connections = server load
i.e You can put 4 TB of storage in atom server with 2GB of ram? This server can manage 4TB of storage with 90% of space used?
My point is "What is max storage space for each server configuration?(CPU and RAM)"
Sorry for my bad english =/ |

there no simple answer to this, but more the ram; better it is
you can have 20TB of data on 2gb ram box, but the only 1 specific file is downloaded by users, then the box is capable
but if you have 2TB of data and 8gb ram, but users are downloading 1000 different files at a time; that will be a problem
So there is no simple answer to your question, you are better off buying a server with more ram. |

cant be very specific how much ram or cpu will be used
but get a Quad box & 8GB ram with ngnix setup , should be able to able to serve atleast 300-400 downloads on a gbit link; make sure you have a raid10 setup or else HDDs will be a bottleneck |
