I have our site running really smooth at the moment it is using version 1.5 so what would i gain in doing this upgrade and is it a simple job ??? I dont want to loose the look of the front end in any shape or form so i am thinking if it aint broke dont fix it.
What have people gained as a result of the upgrade and was it worth the effort,i lost our 1st setup about a month after we 1st started as the hosting people went bust but we rebuilt and as i dont have a great amount of html knowledge i am thinking will i gain anything.
Can i have some feedback from your upgrade experiances please. |

well , i cant give feedback but i can give you some help for upgrading
before upgrading , make a backup of everything
so you got all your files in 1 dir
make a backup of your mysql database , so you dont lose your database
then lets get started
probaly the tables are just hte same , exept the files
you got 2 folders , a template folder and all toehr folders
in the template folder are your custom designs , so keep them serperated
upload everything exept the congif file ( xfsconfig.pm or so )
then it should work already
if i am not wrong
run convert.pl to apply new changes of the new version (or read the readme , safes me a lot of explaing )
and if it doesnt do what it should do , then just start over
replace your backup and try again , or dont try it again if you got to mutch problems with it
