16 GB Ram you should have also since dl.cgi is very memory intensive.

How many servers do you have?
What are you paying for them?

Please let me know asap.

with that kind of peaks, you are surely not using them for "file hosting" but for live streaming ?

I have servers with yazuhost.com, you can contact them. Always fast response & cheap pricing. I am fairly happy with them from the last 18months

1 gbps unmetered is a bit expensive?
100 TB on 1 Gbit uplink is quite okay, I do not have more traffic on one server since I have only 6-8 TB space.
I use Raid 5 and raid 0 (raid 0 on smaller servers)
I have small "worker" servers and bigger "storage" servers.
Files with many downloads will be transferred to the strorage servers, the worker servers handle all the current uploads.
Thats how you can provide good download speeds and upload speeds :)

hi stamos, how do you work with "worker" servers and "storage" , can you share your experience?
install FTP mod on worker server then transfer files to storage server?
is it automatic or manual?

thanks for sharing.

you can transfer files from server to server with xfliesharing script, if you have severs at the same company/country then it works pretty good.

How much hard drives do you have? And what do you pay?

one serious problem with them is that it takes ages for seting up new servers.
waiting times 1-2 weeks are not seldom :(

as for the HDs and price, you can check this at 100tb?!
