Add Points per download question

#1 Postby Timmy » Mar 25, 2010 10:00 pm

hi guys,

I want to pay my users $5 per 1000 downloads and my calculations said that I need to put an value of 0,005, right?

So, how value do I need to put?
0,005 or 0.005 or 0005? or none of this?

thank you

hmmm two of my members call me the attention of this situation...
My calculations was wrong after all...

I want to pay $5 per 1.000 downloads
And I add 0.005 in the Add Points per download field. That is wrong...
The correct value is 1 right?

Because:

0.005 x 1000 = 5 points
1 x 1000 = 1000 points = $5

Am I correct?

I have no idea who your adverts are, and how many sign ups you have but WOW if you can afford to pay $5 per 1000... Bravo!!!

1 x 1000 = $5 so it would be inputted as 1.000 for files lets say > 50MB

You have to get your numbers right from the start because if you're paying more then you're earning, then your site will not last very long... Also, you can't set amounts based on what companies ranking 76 on alexa are doing... They have mountains of data to support their payouts.

I hope this helps...

yea, that's pretty average... But what I'm trying to say is that you have to know your revenue, operating cost, and profits (so you stay motivated) before you can decide how much you payout.

I don't know if you've purchased it yet, but I'd recommend the SMART POINTS mod because your advertisers only pay you so much based on where your visitor is coming from. So you can fairly payout based on where the downloads come from.
