direct link generator problem

#1 Postby tendea » Mar 27, 2013 3:36 pm

Hi, I want use 'Generate direct links' on my premium users but I have a problem.
when premium users click on Generate direct links and try to download the files was open in the browser and premium users can see the real url of the file.

If the file is a picture the picture is open in the browser and in the browser url they can read: http://domainFileServer/patch/files.jpg.

How can I force the browser user to download the file?

If someone share that link all the people can download without script..

You have the option of limiting download links to a single IP which prevents the sharing of links with other users.

Secondly to force download you need to set the mime type to application/octet-stream. You can change the mime type of files in your web server config.
