disk io performance

As indicate on subject, what is the best for i/o performance?

about disk, sata or sas?

sas , 15k rpm drives

or ssd drives

Has anyone thought of hybrid drives? SSD for the Hot data and HDD for the cold data so popular files would be put on the SSD as they are considered Hot data.

@frostyshield there is already mod for that. Called SSD or something like that .


@fuorissimo SAS 15.5k will be your best choice considering hdd (i think they come in 1TB if needed)

Ye but if you got the hybrid drives there wouldn't be a need for the mod would there?

for reduce i/o and speed up performarce, what is the best from:

- have only big files, so not high number of download
- have small files

considering the same band trasnfer, off course.
What you suggest as dimension for single file?
