How many users can this server handel with nginx ?

Not much :)

nginx alone with only static content it should be good, but apache + perl on the same box, i doubt it will be any good.

hmm was thinking the same, but doesnt FS maily depend on nginx ? except on file uploads

I've had one of these 1 ghz boxes from ovh, and it just started dropping connections after 50 or 60 downloaders, from both xdcc and lighttpd :/

those are SAN based ? or local disks

i think you are talking about RPS

it was a local 250 gb ide disk on a 1.2 ghz celeron with 512 mb ram :/

oh ok , i think ide disk was the bottle neck

also you were using lighttpd ? so i guess it was using perl to send files and that could have been a issue too

i will try out this server next week, lets see how it goes
