File Server Upload Protocol

#1 Postby H1M » Nov 10, 2008 9:52 pm

Hello. I have successfully added two external server as file sharing servers to my website. The self checks come out all green and it says everything is fine. When I go to upload a file though, it just stays at the progress bar screen. The percentile stays at 0% and it says connecting to ***.***.com (* replace name). Any ideas why this would be happening? What is the protocol used to upload to an external server? FTP or SCP...etc

Regards,
H1M

Does upload finish after all anyway?

Disable mod_security, mod_gzip, mod_deflate on your file server if installed.

Check for JS errors.

It does not finish. It gets stuck when it says "Initializing Upload". From there, it does nothing.

Then there's an error in upload.cgi happened. Check apache error_log for errod details. Make sure it's 755 chmod.
PM me FTP details if you're unable to fix yourself.

Is the upload.cgi file located on the file server or my main server? As I said, when I first attached the file server, it said everything was okay.
