look out

#1 Postby cuty » Jul 13, 2009 3:57 am

there are people trying to get by the filehosting system by paying for 1year service through paypal and then immediately calling paypal and reporting abuse.they claim that their credit card was used illegally and paypal issues a refund and they still have premium features. This has happen to my site alot , calling paypal and telling them wil get you no where as they will only say they dont provide online service protection.

so this is just a warning to file host admins. to be on the lookout for payments and cancellations , check your paypals to verify all premium users.

Good that you provide a service, not product. So you can cancel premium any time.

yes I know but, if your not careful, you wont realise till months after.People rarely check their paypals to see whats going on, so they could be getting robbed and find out mths after and cancel it late.

The other thing that just happened to me was someone sent an "eCheck" via paypal and paypal takes like 3 days to confirm that. So during that time, the user can user the service and then cancel their payment. That type of thing sucks, too.

I don't have the problems with paypal on my website with payments... but I have right now problems with their "Use Policy" and "Guidelines for File Sharing and Newsgroup Merchants"
I think that many of their points would like to added to XFS (such as their website access policy to your site (yep!, they wanting it)), working with US "National Center for
Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline", etc.

Does anyone have had apply their policy ?
