More powerful server, slower download speed

#1 Postby technoind » Jan 12, 2010 4:15 pm

I just got my new server set up today, a lot more powerful server comparing to my first file server, but video streaming / file download is a lot worse

I've had before 2 file servers at the same time, and had the same problem. When a little bit of traffic hit the server the speed dies.

The first file server remains the same, functions at normal speeds.

Can anyone help with this issue? I am willing to pay for assistance and/or advices.

thanks

Email us to [email protected] with server details or maybe root access, can check out your server and maybe offer some magic.

I chose direct links as an option, off peak things looked fine, now server is slow as hell again. Is there anything more I could do. Again this is a 200mbps peak port server/1gbps off peak dedicated, my first file server is only 50mbps peak time. Is it possible to buffer for ages like this, comparing to the slower speed server witch plays all files smooth ?

Is your host FDC? You might want to change as FDC server has removed many bandwidth carriers I heard and people aren't getting the speeds they had before 3rd Jan 2010
