New Desktop File Manager

#1 Postby admin » Sep 27, 2012 9:56 am

Hello Everyone,

We would like to introduce new Desktop File Manager which is an extended version of the free Desktop Uploader.

Featuers:

- Windows and Mac OS X compatible
- Already tied to your domain and it can't be changed
- Automatically load your heading logo
- Automatically load your favicon
- Multi-threaded upload
- HTTP Proxy support
- Upload/Rename/Delete Files
- Copy folder contents (links and BB codes) to the clipboard.

Mac OS X

You can find it in your client areas.
And as usual, you're free to send us your feature reuqests.

Thanks

sorry for putting a suggestion into this thread, but this should also add a feature called as watch folder (similar to skydrive/dropbox) that way my_files get updated everytime a new file is added to a folder on pc

& we can call our biz legitimate like other (dropbox) sites

questions,
1. does this also allow to download ? bulk download you files back to pc
2. allows multi threaded uploads ? screens do show that, just want to confirm
3. does it have export links option ?
4. does it check file_md5, before the file is uploaded ? i.e. if a similar file already exists in db, there is no point re-uploading it

Hi,

answering your questions:

1. Well, we didnt included such functionality in the first version. There are some security issues which should be solved first (that's quite dangerious to pass direct download links via uncrypted connection).

2. Yes

3. Yes, you can copy links to the clipboard.

4. No such feature yet, we will consider implementing it later.

As for folder monitoring.. maybe later.. It's just first version yet.

1. You just think or it's not working? Did you tried latest version (there was update for mac this week)? Any error?

2. Latest version? Screenshot?

p.s. you'd better create support ticket, rather than writing here.

Username and password is stored in plain text, without any coding. This is unacceptable!

That's not a big issue, since it's stored in user's profile which can be accessed by user only. Anyway, it will be encrypted in next update.

I think the filemanager has problems with very big file lists, like 1000 files and more.
it freezes.

Do you have such file list so we can test? However, having such many files in one folder is not normal.
