One of my file servers went down...

#1 Postby GMC » Mar 18, 2010 1:30 am

I had lots of complaints that customers were having trouble uploading. I tried to disable the offending server - but I couldnt turn it off or to read only

When I add more and more servers at some stage one may be down - is this normal for the whole site to be affected by one of the file servers ie Not the main site server???

Cheers

GMC:

Your post does not have enough information for us to guess what's wrong.

What did your own testing reveal?

What do your web server logfiles say?

Thanks, mrperl.

I know why the server was down - I took it down for maintenance

What I couldnt do is use the whole site when this server was down - and trying to disable access to it in the admin panel of the script was my issue - it wouldnt allow me to turn it off - or make it read only

Nothing

I tried to turn it off - and it just "thought" about it for minutes and did nothing

OK this is happening again

Here is the server ip

96.9.147.213

Its down/offline or just plain crapped out

Here is the site

http://upit-downit.com/file/

It is running fine

BUT try to download a file

eg this one

http://upit-downit.com/file/files/4/ptn ... 09.173.wmv

You will get nothing

So I go and try turn off that server in the admin panel and it also "hangs"

Is there something I can do??

Cheers

Where is your server administrator?

From what i see, it seems your httpd isnt running, or running right.

Download of the file you posted works fine..
