Windows as File Server

#1 Postby shontrix » Oct 07, 2012 5:24 pm

Hi, I have a xfilesharing script installed perfectly and working on a Linux server... I want to add more file servers to it, will it work if I use a Window Server for the file server? Is it possible to configure that way?

I want the windows server as a file server since it allows you to use RDP.

You cant use Windows OS systems.
Requirements
XFileSharing works in all major browsers (Moz/FF, IE, Opera, Safari).
It requires Linux and have Apache web server. Had to say, that approx. 80% of hosting servers working on Linux and Apache. No programming required. It's a single Perl script, and most servers support Perl CGI scripts automatically; for the rare server that doesn't, Perl can usually be easily added.

Shortlist:

Linux OS
Apache web server with mod_rewrite module
.htaccess files support [http://www.tutorio.com/tutorial/enable- ... -on-apache]
Perl higher than 5.007 version
Perl LWP module
MySQL database
DBI, DBD::mysql perl modules
GD lib, GD perl module (Optional)
