DB problem. Suggestions?

#1 Postby pcfun19 » Oct 27, 2012 8:15 pm

Hi... any suggestion on how to solve this:

"Software error:
Can't connect to Mysql server. at Modules/DataBase.pm line 28...."

Any configuration you have in mind? For example a separate server for mysql with a specific configuration? or specific configuration on the current server? or specific software to install and balance the load???

This appears due to high load... Does the software kill the mysql connections or keeps permanent connections? could this be the problem?

There are days with many more visitors at the same time and the load keeps low at 2.00-3.50

and other days with less visitors it touches even 180

Should this be a DDoS attack?

OK... in any case, what do you suggest?

Thank you...

First Optimize your MySQL conf and increase max connection limit.

If you have big FileHost like daily 100K+ Unique Visitors and 100K+ downloads, you need strong WebServer and my advice split your SQL server.

In last 30 days i saw lot of DDos attack on XFS WebSites.
Attacker try mostly Login with bruteforce. We need a auto BANN methods for this problem like vBulletin forums.
