technically the divx player should be able to do this. however I've yet to see anyone successful in this...
What i'd suggest is to remux the things to mp4 and encode the audio to aac.
this site does it and it works as long as the video is avc(x264) http://animemusicvids.net/135_Air-exten ... ng-BD.html

get heywatch mod , it wil reencode the files to mp4 and can be streamed

to stream .mkv the user needs to have divx webplayer 2.0 or above which is a shame as 2.0 and above sucks

True, new DivX web player is too bad.
And it play not all MKVs actually, but only with H264 video codec and AAC/MP3 audio codec as far as I know. At least I wasn't able to play my own MKV sample with it.

Encoding to MP4 is the universal solution for sure.
