If it were based on space, then any new server (having the least amount of space used) would be under heavy load when initially attached.

From what I have experience with the software is that it goes in order from the last server attached to the oldest if available with the space required.

thats basically what happens

thats why i requested sibsoft for a SAN/Storage server option, where we can add as many front end servers we want depending on kind of traffic we get

I guess I really didn't pay attention then... We don't use the method of adding additional "file servers". Due to a catastrophic event, we had to re-engineer our whole setup. It's been working for us so far, so it was worth the amount of time we put in to it.
