Upload speed problem with mixed apache/nginx file server

#1 Postby e » Jun 07, 2012 4:25 am

I had initially thought to use only nginx on the fileserver, until I found out that the status bar does not work on nginx. Why is that btw?

So, then I set up apache to work on another port to do the uploads.
The problem is I must have done something wrong with either perl or apache.
The upload speed is limited to 85kb. Which is ridiculous because there is nothing on the server yet.

I then tried a seperate little test upload module to isolate it from xfilesharepro.
Same speed.

Has anyone had the same problems?
Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks,
E

you upload speed to the server must be limited, hence the slow speed

try remote upload from cachefly test link and see if the speed is ok

what other port are you using, your host might be shaping/limiting traffic other than port 21 22 80 8080

It is weird the remote upload FLIES!!! Megabytes per sec.
But upload through the browser is slower than watching caramel.
Less than 100kb.

I am uploading on port 81.
I tried it on different machines (on different networks),
so it isn't just my machine at home.

Thanks,

try changing the port to 8080 (or 80 if possible).
