Uploader Program Issue: Not uploading when upload limit 0mb

#1 Postby Eskick » Apr 20, 2011 2:56 pm

The uploader program doesnt upload when the upload limit is 0mb which counts as unlimited on the website,
Just thought i should point this out.

why would you put upload limit to 99999999 or to 0 ??

or do you know persones who got files that are bigger then 150TB ??

just put a normal value in it ( like 10GB or so ) as it is useless to say unlimited size upload

Because it wont be unlimited in the program, it will just have a high number,

I can support up to 1tb files at the moment, i don't plan on making it limited, if they plan on trying to upload something bigger than mine and there harddrive so they can test me then let them fail

i would love to see a user who got a 1TB big file

and i wanna bet that you do not support that big upload , as your server will time out before you will be able to get that uploaded

to do a small calculation
what kind of conection do you need to be able to upload 1TB in less then 1 week ...

what user does have that conection and what server got a 10GB conection that is not used as backbone ??

let me explain it differend to show you your mistake

if a user upload = upload speed
so if 1 user is uploading 1TB , then no other users will be able to make a coenction to upload or there speed will be 1kb/s with luck

same apply to download
what user will download a 1TB big file from a http server ??
it takes 1 week to download at full speed
but then other users wont be able to download as you are limited on speed

and if you like to cap the downloads ( let me say 350 kb ) then it takes 1 month to download
and no1 going do that or they are willing to bring down your server with mass conections on those files (overloading your server )

but it is still your desision to do what you like to do to
the point i mean is
that i wont suggest it to allow 1TB big files so that makes it useless to make it "unlimited" upload

and here is a other guess from me (no offence , just want to say it )
you never got problems before with your server and you are kinda new to hosting , so you think that you can offer something good as you got a great server , but forget about the small detais where no1 seems to care about if they got less knowledge or experiance with it

anyway
if it works , why not
i wish you good luck with it :D
