What is the process of changing from .com to maybe .eu

#1 Postby FZee » Feb 15, 2012 10:13 pm

Hey all,

Don't ask me why but i've decided that i want nothing to do with the USA for millions of reasons, so lets stay on topic.

I've moved my server to another country in Europe.

The problem is , my site's "domain name" ends with .com which is owned by VeriSign (USA). I've registered an ".EU" version of my domain, so I would like to find is:

How do I change from .com to .eu with XfileSharingPro 1.9 ?

PS. Server is Apache ( & no WHM/Cpanel, just FTP/SSH)

Thanks for your replies

manual open the config file (ssh)

then edit as needed and change the domain name to your new domain name

it shoulnd provide to mutch poblems if the serial is not locked on domain name

if it is locked on domain name then you got a problem as it cant be changed then with out contacting the support

So basically the license key is only valid on full domain address ? I thought the extension was not important (eg. net, com, eu, org)

the end extention and begin extention is what makes the domain ...

so yes , it seems to be locked on domain
so to be able to move it you need to contact support and wait on them until they unlock it for you

nothing more can be done about that

ps
.com are domain Extentions
and with out a Extention you do not have a Domain
