How can I test template changes without affecting my live site?

I want to edit templates without visitors seeing half-finished changes on the live site. Is there a safe way to preview them first?

Copy the
Templates folder to Templates2 and edit there. Preview your changes by adding ?design=2 to any URL on your site - this only affects your own browser (via a cookie), not other visitors. Switch back to the live templates any time with ?design=0.If you also need to test backend/Perl changes safely, ask support about getting a license for a separate test subdomain. |
