Adding points after verified download?

#1 Postby awaisuk » Mar 30, 2010 1:15 am

The current points system can be easily cheated as the user can close the download in the middle but it still gives him the point he earns.

Is there anything that can verify the COMPLETE of the download and then add that point to that user?

Admin said they have ngix system, does it take care of this aswell?

Agree with awaisuk. There is a serious bug here.
User just enter correct code in download1.html, then point is added in user account.
No need to download the file.

I strongly request only add point after complete download the file.

Its not possible unless there is some kinda application/script which actually logs traffic on the network port per file/ip .

I don't see this being implemented in sibsoft by default.

If you have any clue how this can be technically be implemented, shed some light and sibsoft can implement it.

If cannot count the point after full download, at least count point when user click the direct link in download2.html.

Could anyone help?

Perspnally dont have it coz o dont need it but it should be working on nginx. You can check if file is completely downloaded, but not with this script i guess(maby after some heavy mods, dont know). There is 1 thing need to be add i guess u need save filesize position of downloaded data to DB which is gonna be pain coz try imagine 1000 user downloading same time ? Very heavy load to DB server. Maybe there is other way how to track the success download but i dont know about it.

I would welcome advance logging system instead of this :) More usefull and better to found out cheates.

Ok, here goes expert with word :)

It's possible to do this with dl.cgi but you know, it takes lotta CPU resources so not an option.

We've done this "100% download complete" mod for our users using nginx mod. No heavy DB load. Will cost you about $100 if you already have NGINX mod.

Hello

please do this, it will be great. Otherwise, script is totally waste, as users will cheat this.

Best Regards
