I said if he really want s to have a high performance.

of course it makes no sense to get 4x ssd in raid 10/5 but it's fast as hell

And you don't have to tell me about that. I know something about hardware.

you can start with it but after 500 users online you could get problems with your server.

Why I should increase in main server????
for over 1000 visitors!!!
for fileserver it's ok if you don't do video streaming and limit users to max 100kb/s with nginx
video streaming needs more ram at least 16 and 1gb line because streaming must be at least 250-400kb to stream it fluid and fast

I do not have video streaming...
but I want to put
free download 100kb/s
Register 130 KBytes/s
PREMIUM 10 MBytes/s
and Parallel Download free 1....Register 2....PREMIUM 15
-------------
Any suggestions to increase the servers Or so good??

First of all increase means to top up something. To make it more!

At start of your project you will have around 3-100 users online at the same time.

If you have an affiliate program it can easily raise to 300-1000 users online at the same time downloading, uploading etc.

your database then needs to do many connections and finally your server will IDLE. It will breakdown of too many connections!

And I talk about SSD drives! Not SATA drives here! With SATA's it can be that it will only work till 500 users!

It loads and loads and it will show blank page or connection error....then you will loose users!

So for the start it is ok. But if you want to go big you must invest and better be prepared before this happens!

But if you cannot invest more it's ok for start.

i would recommend to start with 3 fileservers otherwise everything will slow and uploads could freeze!

Premium 10MB/s with a 100MB line???

lol

This means 10 premium users can download with 10MB/s at the same time

And the free users will not be able to download something!

You get a big bottleneck my friend!

Then you must take a 1GB line for your Fileserver!

But then a flatrate will cost around $1000/Month per Server!

to start a file host does not mean to rent 1-2 servers and get xfs script for $150.

It's much more! Don't underestimate this!

If you don't have flatrates (unmetered) it could happen that you get a $2000 bill next month and it's over if you cannot pay!

a project could reach 300-1000 TB traffic / month and this is very low estimated!

bandwith is the most expensive thing after the servers!

thank u randy..
I'm sure that At start of my project i have around 500-1500 users online at the same...((for my site which is visited by more than 70 thousand per day))
I within 10 days make visitors around 500-1500.. I am a strong uploader
and I have more than 250 thousand files At different host sher..and In addition he works with me more than 80 uploaders..They are ready to transfer files to To my new site shering...
I know what to say....
--------------------------------
So I Ask
what I should increase in main server????
and what I should increase in file serverr (2 fileserver)????
So that does not happen any problems in upload and downolad
main server
Intel i7 Eight-Core
Processor: (CPU) qaud
Memory :(RAM) 24
100 Mbps of Premium unmetered bandwidth
Primary :HDD 256 GB SSD
Secondary HDD: 256 GB SSD
Uplink Port Speed: 1 GBPS
Raid: 10
8 IP Address
-------------------------
2 FILE SERVER
Dell PowerEdge R200
1x Intel Quad Core Xeon X3210
RAM: 4GB DDR2
Harddisk: 2x1TB SATA2
Bandwidth: 6000 GB
Uplink Port Speed: 1 x 100Mbps Full-Duplex
-------------
I do not have video streaming...
but I want to put
free download 100kb/s
Register 130 KBytes/s
PREMIUM 10 MBytes/s
and Parallel Download free 1....Register 2....PREMIUM 15
What do you say??

1x SSD is enough for it without Raid, but SSD still not safe place for store high piorty data.
2x SSD on Hardware Raid 1 is very good solution for Web Server.
Raid 5? Waste of money and performance.
Raid 1 have better write and read performance than Raid 5

For FileServers, you need high disk size, high random IO read performance.

Does this mean Does this mean that muy main servere is good???
for all
Oh, you understand that I do not speak English
I want a simple explanation ..
I'm so sorry
i have my server for my site So I can understand a lot But in use filesharing I do not know exactly what the requirements...

This server is good but some details must be worng
How to sale this server "100 Mbps of Premium unmetered bandwidth" and same time "Uplink Port Speed: 1 GBPS"
This is anormal.

And another anormal status, Raid10 need minimum 4+ Disks but u told 2 disk only.

However 100Mbit port speed and 100Mbit unmetered BW is enough for Main/Web Server. Also 2x256GB SSD is realy good on Raid 1

But your FileServer is crap for daily 70.000 visitors/downloader
"Bandwidth: 6000 GB"

I have 4 XFileSharing Website custommer, bigone have DAILY BW usage is 15-20TB

I have a external XFileSharing support service for who have FileHost website and want open newone.

main server is ok. but xeon's are better!

raid 10 needs 4 discs raid 0 or 1 2 discs!

if you really want to have that much traffic you will need more ram or seperate the database to additional ssd server in raid5 or 10

file server is not good for your type of business.

I would take at least 1x1gb line or 2x1 gb Bonding

better 10gb line!

ufkabakan

Thank you very much for your reply
For the 100 Mbps unmetered Uplink Port Speed: 1 GBPS and raid
I chose this in exmasters.com...
--------------------
but Now I learned many things..And I hope that you tell me if I'm wrong or not
1- for main serve 100Mbit port speed and 100Mbit unmetered BW is enough with ram ram 24 for daily 70.000 visitors/downloader
2- i need for a every file server the big traffic possibility and Port Speed: 1 GBPS
-----------
and What about
the Memory (ram) for file servere??
Raid for file servere??
Processor for file servere??
HDD for file servere??....
-------------------------------
In the other, How Can I Contact You for support my site When Open??
I am waiting for just enough information to book a server
I know After opening Will I have problems with my site:)

hi alix

and What about
the Memory (ram) for file servere??
Raid for file servere??
Processor for file servere??
HDD for file servere??....

ram for fileserver 4GB-8GB is optimal

16GB at least for video streaming!

raid 10 is best!!! raid 0 for performance + raid 1 for security

= raid 10

raid1 = MIRRORING the discs

raid0= writing on 2 discs at the same time

raid 10 is writing on 2 discs at the same time and those 2 discs getting mirrored to other discs (must be same amount)!

but for raid 10 you need 4 discs!!!

e.g. 4x2TB = 8TB

8:2 = 4 TB ~ 3600GB +- (TEMP for UPLOADS at least 500 GB!!!)

= 3000-3100 GB SPACE! (3TB)

so when you have 4 discs with 2TB you can use 3TB only but with security!

do not use RAID 0 only!

RAID1 (2 discs mirrored) is a must but RAID 10 is best for file servers

processor for file server

go with an e1230 or e1240 this is ok!

HDD you can take

SATA3 7200K 6GB/s -> space and cheap (e.g. 2TB / disc)

SAS 6GB/s 15K -> Performance and expensive (300-600GB / disc)

SSD ~ 550MB/s -> ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE AND VERY EXPENSIVE

1x SSD 120/240/480 GB ~ $200-500 / 1 disc!!!! depends on space

but some servers limit the speed of the discs.

e.g. smaller HP servers just allow 3GB/s for the discs

also you should think about an hardware raid controller or if you install it software wise.

google for hardware raid vs software raid

now decide ;)

remember:

your setup will cost you $3000 / month with that much users

traffic/hardware etc

you need admins / programmers that work 24H

with this much users you need at least 10 file servers!!!

otherwise everything will go slow and freeze!
