When I search for the file names on google it doesnt bring up anything? what can this be from...

That does mean, that you site wasnt indexed by Google yet.

the site has been up for 2 months now when i google the site its the first one. But none of the files show up on google. Even files uploaded 2 months ago or a month ago

if you searched for all indexed pages in google.com you'll got 207

http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Afilecone.com

and for example google.com.eg (google egypt) you'll got 563

http://www.google.com.eg/search?q=site%3Afilecone.com

so there's no problem in your site you have to got higher pagerank to appear in the first result pages of any keyword
