Hi

I bought a file server with config:

Hard drive SSD Intel SSD 320

I want to know how can I store most using files in SSD?

I contacted support team and here is their reply

' no such "SSD mod" exists. There are custom solution, but it's not mod and not being offered to public because it's quite complicated and expensive. I dont think you
will need it, considering the fact that your site is not live and have zero load. '

I wish these feature would be include in next version.

You can create subdomains 2 and then store the files as follow:

domain.com --> for Intel SSD 320 (localhost)
subdomain1.domain.com --> for 2x 120GB SSD (1st storage server)
subdomain2.domain.com --> for SATA3 2x 2TB (2nd storage server)

I hope you find it useful

Hi kuul,

Could you please explain more about it;

Is it like this???

Partitioning Hard drive, mount a folder in SSD drive, create an account in this folder, assign sub-domain to this, create a file server for this account, store mostly using file in it etc.. some thing like this????

Is there any other way?
Thanks

hi guys

I have managed to resolve this. I am not sure whether it is the right way to do.. because I have no idea about linux commands!!

Please let me know is there any easy way to do..

I did it every through WHM.

1) Firstly I checked my hard drive partition through manager5 ovh by netboot rescue mode. I could find following details
dev/md0 1.8T 115G 1.7T 7% /data
/dev/md2 92G 2.5G 85G 3% /home

i suppose mount point /data is SATA drive and /home is SSD

2) I created an account WHM»Account Functions »Create a New Account;

3) Changed /home to /data from WHM »Server Configuration »Basic cPanel & WHM Setup -: * Enter the location where you wish for new users’ home directories to be created.

4) Created another account as sub-domain under this mount point /data

5) created two fileservers for each account.

Now I have three fileservers one main web server, Database server is in SSD & fileserver in another Sata drive

I checked file transfer to each fileserver, remote upload everything is working well;

Any body please reply.. is this the right way to solve??/

Thanks

I am still searching for moving files with high hits in a specific time to the SSD drive. Definitely need someone's help. Because I can never know which user's files are going to get hits.

Now I am allowing users to upload to ssd drive , so that they can enjoy the speed and may get first impression about my website, probably they will return to my site. Later I will move manually files from ssd to sata.
