mysql cpu high load, how to reduce cpu load.

My site alway get high load by mysql. Im already turning sql but cpu still high load.
anyone have any idea to reduce cpu load.

No one can give any exact solution without checking your server.

Anyway, restart your mysql, make some tweaks & it should work fine. However, it also depends upon your server specs. If you are getting high load & your server cannot handle that, you may need to upgraded your server.

First find out if you need to upgrade server or if your mysql is not optimized enough. What is your server specs? How many downloads daily are you getting?

Try dumping ip2files if the table is very big is size

I have 35k to 42k download daily but my server away high load, its realy high when my site have 200 - 300 visit online at once.
I have run main server and file server together on this server. And with 1 vbb forum with 1k page view per day.



does I need to upgrade cpu ?

Do you mean run main server on separate server with file server or just remote mysql on separate server ?

yeah, just buy a new strong server for sql load. now cpu load in both server are 0.x ,

Does this server have to be connected to the 1st server via local network or will a more powerful server work that is housed in the same datacenter?

idealy should be connected via cross-connect or private vlan

it can be in same dc, but make sure that traffic between db-web servers is not counted or else you will endup with a big bill
