Need help in migrating files from one server to another

I am NOT moving the server from where the xfs script runs, only one of the file server.
Lets say I move all files from server 1 to new server 2 making sure all links etc remain the same as before.
Then how do I go about changing the ip address of the old server to reflect newer one?
Can someone please guide me to correct procedure?
