100tb.com uses Softlayer network one of the best within the USA. They are only ran by uk2.net which are based in UK but not a UK network.

I would choose 100tb.com.

And when choosing 100tb.com and you have eu users, choose washington dc servers. 100tb allows you to choose from 3 locations.

Washington DC. - East Coast
Seattle - West Coast
Dallas - Centre

I went to a reseller of 100tb.com but i wasn't happy with the single threaded speed at all now i moved to NY based server with 2 gigs of bandwidth on each server.

We are really happy with the performance especially my site is only divx streaming.

website name hostcircle.com

I am extremely happy with them.

100tb is a good choice if you are on a tight budget but their http throttling sucks :(

If you choose Washington DC and run this code on your server, Single Thread should be good enough

Code: Select all

mv /etc/sysctl.conf sysctl.bak
cd /etc
wget http://www.setupalinuxserver.com/files/sysctl.conf.txt
mv sysctl.conf.txt sysctl.conf
/sbin/sysctl -p
/sbin/sysctl -w net.ipv4.route.flush=1

krazyloads:

100tb got 10x more bw for the same price and even better hardware (199$)

SingleHop might be good for Web frontend. But this is more an AD than a review of their services.

The server for 99$ isnt usefull for XFS at all

And sneaking in affiliate links should get you banned :)

Singlehop is a good provider. Also with coupon thats good.

But when you put affiliate links into the same post, it kinda kills the message.

Anyway. Most providers are good for hosting the XFS frontend, some unmanaged, some managed. All depends on how the users technical skills are.

But in the world in Fileservers part of XFS, atleast for us with high traffic. We need low BW prices to make it go around (most cases)

So when we recommend servers, we need to say if they are good for frontends or fileservers. Because good webhosters might have more expensive BW but works fine for frontends, but to expensive for Filehosting, then you might need to go down on service level to get cheaper bandwidth.

Some good news, 100TB.com offers servers in .uk from 99$ now.
But i would consider choosing the 149$ ones since hardware level on the 99$ is a little low. Anyway you get alot of bang for the money.
A harddrive upgrade might be needed.

I am not sure if i can disclose they said its exclusive for me. Contact them and give a try. If you are moving from another host you will get discount.

When i was with 100tb i got per connection speed at the max to 5mb/s outside US (eu especially) now since NY is in easy coast, i got great coverage to both US and EU and connectivity is awesome.

Try http://cleverkite.com for inexpensive but quality vps servers (their lowest plan is $10/month before discount). You can use coupon code "matt" for a one time 30% discount.
