RAM for file server?

#1 Postby glumbo » Apr 08, 2011 1:20 am

Does it matter how much ram I have on a file server? I was thinking about getting a low RAM (256mb dedicated) high disk space VPS

Get a real server with atleast 4Gb ram so you dont get any bottlenecks, apache uses ram.

If you going to use more than 100Mbit on that server, you might need more ram.
