Problem adding server : How to resolve

#1 Postby finalwar » Mar 12, 2012 5:52 am

i had the following problem with the script while adding a server:

http://sibsoft.net/forum/problem-while- ... hlight=add

Code: Select all

api.cgi: ERROR (Can't connect to domain.com:80 (Bad hostname) LWP::Protocol::http::Socket: Bad hostname 'domain.com' at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/LWP/Protocol/http.pm line 51. )
upload.cgi: ERROR (problems with link)
htdocs URL accessibility: ERROR (should see XFS on link)

i want to share how to resolve as admin does not really seem to care, it took us more than 6 hours to find the problem, and it's NOT a DNS PROBLEM as admin said in the other thread. and obv [email protected] does not answers emails

We registered the server as gold.domain.com , you will have to go into your etc/hosts/ file on the server and change the name to domain.com only

this will fix it

Code: Select all

api.cgi: ERROR (Can't connect to domain.com:80 (Bad hostname)

could be following issue
1. dns issue (try ping from your file server and see if you are seeing right ip)
2. file server ip is blocked on your main server firewall or there is some other connection issue
