Hello everyone,
I have a few questions regarding XFS PRO I hope they will be answered with the help of you guys.
1. It takes almost 1 min to generate download link and with the conversation with the support it's because of high load on IO (atop result)
So the solution is to use JBOD configuration (just attached disks) with possibly using mhddfs for merging them into one partition.
Question: So Can anyone help me with Cheap file server sites which provides JBOD with unmetered bandwidth?
2. What is an alternate solution to improve slow download link generating the issue?
We are currently using the following server configuration
Let me know if anything to improve or decrease in it.
Chassis HP DL180 G6
Processors 2x Intel E5606
Memory 96 GB PC3-10600R
Raid Controller HP P410/256MB (included)
Storage 8x 6 TB SATA
Power Supply Unit(s) Single (1x UPS feed)
External Uplink 2x 1 Gbps
IPv4 Addresses 1x Single Addresses
Incoming Bandwidth Unmetered
Outgoing Bandwidth Unmetered (class 3)
Raid Configuration Best Available
Service Level Agreement None/Standard
Datacenter No preference
Thank you.

Re: Question's about File Servers
Can I get any reply?
Re: Question's about File Servers
Yes, that's the easiest way to solve performance problem. If that will be not enough - then you will have to:
a) lower download speed
b) move hot (popular) files to SSD or another server.

Re: Question's about File Servers
What is your budget for fileserver with unmetered bandwidth?
I think 6tb drives are not good for fileservers. Instead of 8x6tb, 12x3tb will be faster.

Re: Question's about File Servers
Currently, we are paying around 700$ for this server and we can go up to 800$hostlife wrote:What is your budget for fileserver with unmetered bandwidth?

Currently, we have 2Gbps Unmetered link but we are using around 300 TB monthly.
please let me know how to contact you?
Please also suggest me good file storage companies.
Re: Question's about File Servers
* How much active process do you have, when your disk load %100?
* How much IOPS do you have, when your disk load %100?
If you share your "atop" screenshot about this problem, i can give better help for your issue.
Could you tell me your active provider for this server?

Re: Question's about File Servers
I can't see a high load issue on this screen.
Please try to catch a screenshot when you have this load issue.

Re: Question's about File Servers
We had that issue from but currently, we had deleted some unnecessary files from the server that's why the load is stable now.ufkabakan wrote:I can't see a high load issue on this screen.

Could you suggest me good file storage server sites? which are using hardware raid or JBOD config.
Thanks,
You are wonderful!
