Hello,

I found that my downloads has increased dramatically up to 4 times (400%) while unique visits & page views are still same.

Anyone can help?

uploaders these days split their files & upload ; so if a downloader wants to download the entire file he has to dl 4 diff files i.e. 4 downloads , ip renaming the same

But it doesn't make that much difference.

Same Page views, same visits etc, but downloads has increased to 400%.

its something with index_dl.cgi i think because my main servers load is increased and there is some defunct processef for index_dl.cgi

how to stop auto downloaders ?

also if its a auto downloader, it will scrape the page; you wont see in ur analytic stats but the page does get loaded

If your site is there, then download increase probably cause by it.

We can "hack" your templates a bit so their parser will break, but this won't help for long since they update plugins frequently. Contact us for details.

that tool already has captchas way around things

only way is to have a script which will randomly change template and making it impossible for auto downloaders as they depend on pattern
