You can allow direct links on a XFS site to be accessible from any IP, then generate bunch of direct links and do an "remote upload" for them on xvs side. However, that could be a problem if you need to transfer many files.

We usually suggest to check ovh/kimsufi for cheap storage servers.

There's no way to store thumbnails on a separate server. As you noted, they kept on the same server with actual file hosted.

There's no need in this mod if you already have your own certificate installed.
